MANCHESTER, NH - Presidential candidate and U.S. Senator Chris Dodd announced today that he is endorsing Tom Donovan's campaign to become the next Mayor of Manchester. Donovan, former Chair of the School Board Finance Committee, filed as a candidate for mayor two weeks ago.
"As I've campaigned here in Manchester, it has become clear to me that Tom Donovan and I share the same commitment to offering bold solutions to strengthen our middle class and our communities," said Dodd. "He has served the people of Manchester before and knows how to bring people together to achieve real results on the issues facing this great city. I'm proud to stand with Tom and I look forward to doing all that I can to support his campaign."
Donovan has been an active member of civic life in Manchester, where he lives with his wife Stephanie and two children, Kate and Pat. He is a partner at the McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton law firm downtown, and served two terms on the Manchester Board of School Committee, from 2002 through 2005.
"I am honored to have the support of Senator Chris Dodd in my campaign for Mayor of Manchester. With his friendship and assistance, and with the help of so many other dedicated people in Manchester, we can win this election and make progress fighting violent crime, improving our schools, and bringing new business to Manchester," Donovan said. "I admire Chris Dodd, both as a United States Senator and as a lifelong public servant," Donovan added.
Dodd returns to New Hampshire this week for his 16th trip to the Granite State.
