MANCHESTER, N.H. - Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd is in New Hampshire with the firefighters' union that hopes to help him win the state's presidential primary and the White House. Dodd held a news conference in Manchester with the International Association of Firefighters, which endorsed him this week. Dodd lags badly in the polls, but says it's early and the firefighters will help him make up ground against his stronger rivals. Union President Harold Schaitberger says the union's more than 280,000 members will work tirelessly, the way they did for Sen. John Kerry in the last primary campaign. The firefighters union was the only one to endorse Kerry before the 2004 primary. |
