MANCHESTER — Sen. Barack Obama has appointed a team of veteran Democratic activists to oversee his presidential campaign in New Hampshire. State Sen. Martha Fuller Clark, Jim Demers, Ned Helms and Mary Rauh were named N.H. co-chairs of Obama's campaign Monday.
Fuller Clark served in the N.H. House for 12 years and is serving her second term in the state Senate, where she is majority whip. Demers is a former House member and congressional candidate who led Dick Gephardt's 2004 New Hampshire campaign.
Helms, the director of the New Hampshire Institute for Health Policy and Practice, is a former chairman of the state Democratic Party. Rauh, chairwoman of the Women's Fund of New Hampshire, was the Democratic candidate for Congress in 1998.
